Global diversity isn't just a concept, but a campus-wide reality at Albion. From the classroom to the dining hall, science labs to athletic fields, "'global' is what we do," says Global Diversity Theme Year Committee Co-Chair Dianne Guenin-Lelle, French professor in the Modern Languages and Cultures Department. While diversity encompases everyone, the following College offices and departments have placed a particular emphasis in enriching, timely, and valuable programming throughout the Global Diversity Theme Year:
Center for Sustainability and the Environment – contact point for a dual-campus Sustainability Studies program offered by Albion College and the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ)
The Albion-France connection: The city of Albion and Albion College have several vibrant academic and cultural relationships in the Paris/Versailles area. Since the 1990s, several hundred schoolchildren, college students, summer interns and community members have traveled between sister cities Albion, Noisy-le-Roi and Bailly, forming personal relationships through academic study and cultural exchange. These international relationships have produced new and innovative partnerships for teaching and learning between Albion College and French universities, offering Albion and French students the opportunity for semester exchange programs and even degree programs that are completed by studying at more than one institution.
