Mauri A. Ditzler became Albion College's 16th president on July 1, 2014.A visionary leader, a collaborative colleague, and a passionate advocate for liberal arts education in the 21st century, Dr. Mauri A. Ditzler officially became the 16th president of Albion College on July 1, 2014.

A formal Inauguration ceremony was held September 12, which followed his introduction to the campus community last November.

Several hundred students cheered as the crowds gathered at the newly redeveloped west end of Albion’s quadrangle.

Ditzler as Albion College’s 16th president on Friday, September 12, at 2 p.m. on the steps outside Kresge Gymnasium, Members of the Albion College and city of Albion communities will gather on campus for the occasion, along with alumni, friends, and college delegates from across the U.S.

A British Eighth fanfare set the tone for Albion's enthusiastic welcome of Mauri Ditzler, who will become the College's 16th president in July 2014. "In President Ditzler,” said Zach Kribs, '15, Student Senate president and a member of the presidential search committee, “I see a man who not only accepts us as his own, but accepts our student vision, our passion, and our spirit."

The Albion College Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Mauri A. Ditzler as the College’s 16th president. Currently president of Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill., Ditzler will assume his new post July 1. “I have known and respected Albion College for decades,” Ditzler said, “but until I first visited our beautiful campus two weeks ago I didn’t really understand its special character. ... I knew immediately that this was a College I would love.”

On Tuesday, December 1, President Mauri Ditzler spoke with alumni from around the country in a live call-in event, during which he provided an Albion College update and shared exciting news from both the campus and town.

Steve Klein, vice president for enrollment management, and Matt Arend, director of athletics, joined the president on the call, and members of the College's Institutional Advancement team took questions from alumni participants.
