ACM India: Culture, Traditions & Globalization (Pune)

Subjects: A contemporary India course and Marathi language class start during the three week orientation and continue throughout the semester. Students choose from a variety of elective courses. Electives from the past have included: sociology, political science, Indian philosophy, art and architecture, Indian film, and Marathi literature. Students also complete an independent study project.

The program also includes field trips to nearby cultural sites such as the Ajanta and Ellora rock-cut caves, Sihagad Fort, and Sanskriti.

Prerequisites: This program is open to sophomores, juniors or seniors.

Length: Fall semester CREDIT: Up to 4.5 units of Albion College credit can be awarded, if appropriate courses are chosen.

Housing: Students live together in hotels during the first week, then with host families.

Costs not covered by Albion: Students will be responsible for the cost of transportation to and from India, along with local transportation, books and other incidentals.
