Comparative Women's and Gender Studies in Europe

(Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Turkey)

An Antioch University program

Subjects: Examines international feminist issues through field research and independent study within a context of comparative Women's Studies.

Prerequisites: 2.7 GPA; junior-level standing; applicants should have had academic courses and/or practical involvement in women's issues; demonstrated maturity.

Length: Fall term.

Credit: 16 semester hours of credit = 4.0 Albion College units.

Housing: Students will stay at pensions and hotels in Germany, Poland, and the Netherlands. Home stays are arranged for the final month of research in London.

Costs not covered by Albion: Trans-Atlantic travel to/from program, Lunches during home stay period in London.

Comments: This program spends three months on field research to the various countries, followed by a period of independent research or apprenticeship in London for 5 weeks. Evaluation is based on the written field project, all other assigned work, and participation in seminars and group activities throughout the term.
