Heather Waldron, '14
Heather is majoring in economics and management – finance and biology. In summer 2013 she interned at Goldman Sachs in New York, on the firm's Market Risk Infrastructure Team. A few months earlier, she attended the Governor’s Economic Summit in Detroit and was a panel speaker at the Governor’s Education Summit in East Lansing.
Honored as a sophomore and junior by Phi Beta Kappa, Heather has been a presenting member of Albion's nationally ranked Fed Challenge team for two years. She tutors in economics and accounting, and is an admission tour guide. Heather is also the current president of the Equestrian Club and a co-captain and three-year member of the hunt seat team. She is also a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the economics honor society.
Heather likes the small homey feel that Albion has to offer. "You get to know faculty and staff personally and they care about your successes. The small setting also gives you many opportunities to get involved, which are both fun and a good résumé builder." Tying in her experience at Goldman Sachs, she adds that "Working closely with professors gives you an edge with talking to superiors. I know how to talk to professors because I have access to them, and that makes it easier to approach my supervisors with a question."
