U.S. Senator Carl Levin will make a campaign stop at Albion College between 9:15 and 10:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in the College's Kellogg Center, located two blocks south of East Michigan Avenue, at the corner of Hannah and East Porter streets. Levin, who is up for re-election, will make brief remarks and take questions from constituents. The visit is sponsored by the students of the Albion College Democrats.
He's served in the Senate since 1978, representing the people of the State of Michigan," said Ted Stiger, president of the Albion College Democrats, noting that Levin currently chairs the Armed Services Committee and Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. "In 2006, he was one of Time magazine's 10 Best Senators," Stiger added.
"He doesn't strike you as a politician; he's more like an academic, a teacher," said Stiger, who had an internship in Levin's Washington, D.C. office in the fall of 2007. "He really looks forward to engaging students with questions. I've seen how he likes that interaction and he really takes the time for it."
Levin has sponsored several internships for Albion College students during his senatorial tenure. Three current Albion students have worked in his Washington, D.C., office or on his current election campaign.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Stiger at 989/370-1477 or .
