1980 Class Notes

Caroline Plumer Barkaszi, ’80, works for the Freehold Regional High School District as a media specialist with Manalapan High School. She has worked for the district for 21 years. Caroline and her husband, Steve, live in Fords, NJ.

Tom Debbink, ’80, was recently named chair of the Department of Management at Tiffin University. He traveled to Bucharest, Romania, to teach in Tiffin’s M.B.A. program. He and his wife, Jonnie, divide their time between their home in Tiffin, OH, and their cottage on Catawba Island.

Marshall Dunlap, ’80, has been appointed by the bishop to divide his time between Dearborn First United Methodist Church and Harper Woods Redeemer United Methodist Church. Marshall and his wife, Susan DeFoe Dunlap, ’73, serve as co-pastors in Dearborn. He is the only pastor at Harper Woods. They have four children, including Libby Dunlap, ’11. They live in Dearborn.

Don Durrett, ’80, was inducted into the Greater Flint Afro-American Hall of Fame in February. He is an assistant principal at Saginaw High School. Don previously worked as a coach at Saginaw and at his alma mater, Northern High School. At Saginaw, he won a state football championship and was six-time Coach of the Year in the conference. He and his wife, Shirley, live in Flint.

Meggen Urka Nagy, ’80, was recently promoted to controller of supply chain management for Jabil Circuit Inc., worldwide electronics contract manufacturer. She will be focusing on improving the cash cycle. She lives in Tampa, FL.

Rick Plumb, ’80, has worked at Garan Lucow Miller P.C. since 1982. He started clerking for the firm in his second year of law school. Rick is the past chairperson of the firm’s management committee. He is also the managing partner of the main office of the firm, in downtown Detroit. His practice area is civil litigation. Rick graduated from University of Detroit Law School in 1984. He and his wife, Terese, have three children and live in Troy.
