'Celebrate Albion' Invites All to College Community Day

Albion College invites area residents to join alumni, students, and faculty to "Celebrate Albion" with Community Day on Saturday, September 13. From morning to evening, events promote College and city common interests and provide fun activities for the whole family.
"Celebrate Albion!" Community Day Service Project Ceremony: The presentation of the newest partnership between Albion College and the City of Albion will be followed by a hands-on beautification project. 10 a.m., Michigan Avenue and Monroe Street (next to Biggby Coffee).
Family Tailgate: Bring your own lunch or purchase lunch at the tailgate before Albion's football game. Carnival games and sports activities for children will be part of the festival atmosphere. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Albion College Dow Recreation and Wellness Center, Hannah and East Erie streets.
Football: Albion vs. Illinois Wesleyan. A nonperishable food item will purchase admission to the game and a free hot dog. An added bonus: the game features Albion head coach Craig Rundle on one sideline, and his son Travis Rundle (a 2002 Albion graduate) on the other, as defensive coordinator for Illinois Wesleyan. 1 p.m., Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.
Community Blessing Service for Albion College President Mauri Ditzler and his wife, Judi Ditzler. 6 p.m., Lewis Chapel A.M.E. Church. 522 W. Center St.
