Classes are cancelled for Wednesday, April 2, as a result of ongoing power outages on campus following Sunday’s storm. Crews have successfully restored power in many parts of Albion while also tackling the aftermath of severe ice storms across northern Michigan. According to Consumers Energy, power is projected to be restored to Albion’s campus by 11 a.m., Wed., April 2, with the Dow Center expected to come online soon-thereafter by 2 p.m. View Consumers current power outage map.
At this time, we expect Albion College classes to resume on Thursday, April 3. On-campus activities may take place if done so safely in well lit areas. The Registrar will be in touch with updates to the Fall Registration schedule. If you are currently off campus, please be aware of inclement weather on Wednesday afternoon and evening that may impact your commute to Albion.
We urge all students and others to use extreme caution when moving about campus or city streets as there are a number of downed power lines, trees, and other debris. Please allow space for crews and facility services to address concerns without interruption. For all safety concerns, call Campus Safety at 517-629-5610. Monitor your email and phone for further updates.
