Albion Everywhere, a celebration of Albion College’s 185th anniversary and originally slated to feature alumni hosts at sites around the country, will now be an online Facebook event on Thursday, March 19 at 8 p.m. ET.
According to Ryan Robinet, the College’s director of philanthropy–strategic fundraising initiatives, all 60 of Albion Everywhere’s sites—both across the U.S. and internationally—have been moved to a digital format.
“Even the best laid ‘birthday’ plans sometimes need to be amended,” Robinet said. “And we hope that we have thoughtfully balanced the need to stay safe and healthy with a creative way for everyone to celebrate Albion.”
“Although we wish our in-person gatherings could still take place, we feel that it’s best to meet online instead due to current public health concerns,” said Leah Rose, Albion’s engagement and events strategist and one of the coordinators of Albion Everywhere. “The safety of our alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends and supporters is paramount. I think most of the people we contacted about this were relieved.”
A live Facebook mini-webinar from 8 to 8:30 p.m. ET will feature current Wesley Hall Residence Hall Director A.J. Mattson, ’17, and Whitehouse Nature Center Director Jason Raddatz, ’91.
