Upcoming Breaks
Spring Break
While residence halls do not close for Spring Break 2024, there are limited services available during this break. Please prepare to depart campus unless you have critical circumstances.
Consider your plans and the following information:
- There are no classes from Monday, March 4 – Friday, March 8. Classes will resume on Monday, March 11.
- The Office of Community Living will complete safety and security walk-throughs of residential buildings, verifying ground/first floor room windows closed and locked in unoccupied spaces and other security checks for entrance and exits.
- College offices remain open throughout Spring Break during regular business hours (generally, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
- Campus Safety and Community Living will staff an on-call rotation for after-hour emergency needs. They can be contacted through Campus Safety at 517-629-1234 or through the designated residence hall CA on-call phone numbers.
- Serra Dow Athletic Center will operate with reduced hours:
- 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 4 – Friday, March 8
- Dining Services will have limited operations throughout break. Students with active Spring 2024 semester meal plans who are remaining on campus during this time are able to swipe at Lower Baldwin during the following times:

- Eat Shop closes early (5:00 p.m.)
- Grinds closes early (2:30 p.m.)
- Saturday, March 2 – Saturday, March 9
- Baldwin Cafe open for Brunch 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. and Dinner 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. only
- Sunday, March 10
- Baldwin Cafe open for Brunch 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. and Dinner 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Thanksgiving Break
Thanksgiving Break Plan Form
All students must complete the Thanksgiving Break Plan form each year, whether they are staying on campus or departing. This helps the college ensure the safety and well-being of our campus community during the break. The form will be available to all students in eRezLife at Albion and will also be emailed to all students at the beginning of November.
Preparing to Leave Campus for Break
Students who are leaving campus should follow these guidelines to prepare their rooms for a safe and secure break:

Unplug Electronics: Ensure all devices are unplugged, except for refrigerators.

Remove Perishable Items: Dispose of or take home any perishable food items.

Close and Lock Windows: Check that all windows are securely closed and locked.

Take Out Trash: Remove trash from your room to avoid any unwanted odors.

Turn Off Lights: Make sure all lights are turned off before leaving.
Staying on Campus During Break
Students who stay on campus during Thanksgiving break can expect limited services, as many areas of the college will have modified hours. Please review the following information to plan your stay:

Dining Services: Limited hours to students with meal plans. Those hours will be shared at the beginning of November.

Facilities and Maintenance: Routine cleaning will be reduced during this period. Students should report any maintenance emergencies to Campus Safety.

Campus Safety: Campus safety will remain operational 24/7. For emergencies, contact 517.629.0123.
Community Living On-Call Support: A limited number of Community Assistants and professional staff will be available to provide support.
Winter Break
Students must check-out of housing and depart campus within 24-hours after their last scheduled exam and no later than 7:00 p.m. December 12.
Spring 2025 semester check-in is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Kellogg Center. The first day of class is Monday, January 13, 2025. Please plan your transportation accordingly.
