Gender Neutral Restrooms

Albion College offers gender-neutral restrooms across campus.

Dow Recreation and Wellness Center

  • First floor: a gender-neutral locker room/single-stall restroom (labeled ‘Family locker room’)
  • Second floor: a single-stall restroom

Kellogg Center

  • First floor: two single-stall restrooms near the post office

Goodrich Chapel

  • Basement: two single-stall restrooms

Counseling Services

  • First floor: two single-stall restrooms

Umbrella House

  • Basement: a single-stall restroom

Science Complex

  • Basement: a single-stall restroom in the Norris Center
  • First floor: two single-stall restrooms between Kresge Hall and Putnam Hall
  • Second floor: two single-stall restrooms between Kresge Hall and Putnam Hall

Bobbitt Visual Arts Center

  • First floor: a single-user restroom in the main lobby

Ferguson Hall

  • Second floor: a single-stall restroom in the President and Provost’s suite

Ludington Center

  • First floor: a single-stall restroom

Wesley Hall

  • Six single-stall restrooms

Residence Halls

A limited number of single occupancy rooms with private restrooms in Wesley, Mitchell, Seaton and Whitehouse Halls. Contact the Office of Community Living for more information.

Pronouns and Name Changes

Albion College recognizes the importance of using correct pronouns and names. Below are some resources that students can use to designate their pronouns and names as they will appear on college documents and other forms of identification.

Athletics

An excerpt from Albion’s policy on the Inclusion of Transgender Student Athletes: “Albion college prohibits discrimination based on gender, gender identity, or gender expression. In order to uphold the principles of equity and inclusion, Albion Athletics maintains the following policies to facilitate and encourage the participation of transgender students for Albion College athletic teams and visiting teams.”
