Zac Crumb, ’14, Assistant General Counsel, Trion Solutions
(11/19/20) I just wanted to reach out and say a quick “thank you” for the training and skills I gained from you and the whole philosophy dept. during my time at Albion. I’m currently working as in-house counsel for a company in Troy, MI (metro Detroit). As I work with businesspeople and other professionals day in and day out, it is clear to me how much my logic and critical reasoning training sets me apart from others. I work through problems that directors and executives with many more years’ experience can’t seem to solve. This is especially critical in the chaos of the pandemic, with the stakes of some of these decisions being a bit higher. I notice more and more that my coworkers bring all sorts of problems to me to solve (which has been a blessing and a curse) because they trust that I can come to a solution. I always bought into the idea that the training one gets from studying philosophy is useful no matter where you go and now I’m really seeing that pay dividends.

(8/26/14) Just wanted to send you a quick message saying hello. I’m in my first week of real law school classes and this look to be going well. I feel quite prepared and not at all overwhelmed by the substance so far. For this, I’d like to let you know how much I appreciate the entire philosophy department’s help in preparing me and helping me to grow and learn. I know that this help is a major part of why I have come this far. Feel free to share this. I hope to keep in touch as things continue. Once again, thanks.
