Leadership & Governance
Board of Trustees
The function of the Board of Trustees of Albion College is to establish the goals of the College, determine its major features and policies, approve their implementation, and provide for the effective support, administration, and advancement of the College. The Board, in its responsibility for the College, is committed to the fulfillment of the academic needs and personal development of Albion students within the interests of society and its spiritual heritage.
President's Cabinet
The President’s Cabinet includes the vice presidents and chief officers of the College. Albion College’s operations are organized into several major divisions, each of which fall under the executive leadership of a vice president. Vice presidents manage staffing, operations and program delivery for their area of the College. Chief officers of the College collaborate closely with the president to lead focused areas of executive responsibility around key institutional priorities.
Faculty Governance
Albion College’s governance is a collaborative effort between the faculty, administration, and Board of Trustees. The College’s Charter of 1857 gives the Board of Trustees ultimate fiduciary authority, but the faculty is responsible for creating rules of procedure and committees to carry out their duties. The faculty also delegates the primary responsibility for developing and implementing academic policies to five major committees:
- Faculty Steering Committee (FSC)
- Faculty Personnel Committee (FPC)
- Curriculum and Resource Committee (C&RC)
- Budget, Salaries and Benefits Committee (BS&BC)
- Faculty Development Committee (FDC)
