How it works

AmeriCorps - The Rock Block cleanup

The Albion College AmeriCorps program emphasizes personal and professional growth through volunteerism and experiential learning. Students apply to be members, and each year, 50 students are matched with local sites based on their passions, career goals, and skills. Members commit to a term of service where they complete a set number of volunteer service hours over a set period of time with one community partner. Members and community partners work together to solve problems and get things done for our community.

This program combines addressing community needs with hands-on experience that enhance skills, leadership, and purpose. Participants engage in immersive, collaborative initiatives that deepen their understanding of social issues beyond classroom learning. This approach fosters both effective community service and personal development, nurturing a lifelong dedication to service and social responsibility based on practical experience.
