The James L. Curtis for Social Change offers an Experiential Certificate in Social Contexts of Inclusive Youth Development. This certificate prepares students to lead and serve within human services organizations, schools, juvenile justice, faith-based or non-profit organizations, and diverse informal learning settings. Internship and community engagement opportunities support students’ understandings of the socio-spatial, socioeconomic, gender, racial and other disparities that prevent access and persistence within youth-serving settings. This certificate is designed specifically for students who wish to serve diverse youth populations post-graduation.

The James L. Curtis for Social Change offers an Experiential Certificate in Volunteer and Community Resource Management. This certificate prepares students to work with volunteers in the community, non-profit agencies, and businesses. Students will learn key aspects of volunteer management, leadership, community asset mapping, program planning, and evaluation. Students will have exposure and familiarity with various volunteer management models and examine volunteer-dependent organizations. Students will explore organizational recruitment practices, risk management policies, and how to select, train, engage and recognize volunteers.
