Student Success & Academic Support
What are your goals? We can help you get there.
We want to see you reach your full potential. We also understand that the transition to college can be overwhelming. That’s why we have a wide variety of resources that can help you build a strong foundation for success.
Tutoring & Related Services
At Albion, we’re committed to your success. We offer free peer tutoring, academic coaching with our success coaches and one-on-one writing consultations with fellow students to help you achieve your goals.
Cutler Center
Nestled in the Stockwell-Mudd Library, this new facility is your one-stop shop for academic and student success resources, from tutoring services to finding a loaner laptop.
Preparing for Success
When it comes to your college education, it takes a village. Our programs will help you build strong community ties while providing you with the skills to adjust to college life. Our First-Year Experience program includes seminars and learning strategies to aid the academic and social transition into Albion. You can also apply to TRiO, a federally funded program for students in certain underrepresented groups, that offers a wide range of academic, cultural and career learning opportunities throughout their college experience.
Library
Find your perfect study spot, grab a latte and muffin at the cafe, print your term papers, and reserve rooms for group work. You can also reach out to our librarians for help navigating resources, finding that rare book you need or for ideas on where to take your research to a deeper level.
Advising
As a first-year student, you’ll be assigned an advisor who will work with you individually to help you choose your courses, chart a path for your long-term goals and explore other interests. As you move up, you can choose an advisor in your major and schedule a meeting with fellowship advisors for nationally competitive scholarship programs like the Fulbright and Rhodes.
Mentorship
We encourage the positive impact that a one-on-one relationship can bring to students. As a first-year, you’ll have a peer mentor to guide you through your first weeks at Albion. Ready for research? At the Foundation for Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (FURSCA), you’ll be paired with a faculty mentor to develop and carry out your own project.
