Nikhil Ganvir

Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics and Management

Nikhil Ganvir is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics and Management at Albion College. He completed his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico Department of Economics. He is an applied microeconomist with a research interest in Development and Public Economics. His current research explores the effects of caste-based residential segregation of marginalized communities on children’s education outcomes in rural India. He is also interested in looking at the impact of the social positioning of women on their well-being.  After receiving a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from India in 2011, he has worked as a Quality Control In-charge at Confidence Petroleum India Limited (CPIL) from 2011 to 2015. In 2018, he received an M.Sc. in Economics with a concentration in Financial Econometrics from Texas A&M University. In 2019, Ganvir received an M.A. in Economics from UNM.
