Career Opportunities

An alumn with 3 Albion students.

Allison Moore Beers, ’01, (third from left) founded Events North in Traverse City and regularly hires Albion students as interns.

When asked what qualities they look for when hiring new employees, managers frequently list strong oral and written communication skills as among the most important. The skills we teach are among the most universally valuable and transferable skills a student can acquire and refine while in college. This uniquely positions Communication majors to excel in a variety of careers and to be capable of adapting to the changing world in which we live. In addition, a minor in Communication is an excellent complement to virtually any major. Some of the jobs our grads have obtained include:

  • Internet Entrepreneur
  • Media Planner
  • Production Coordinator for a film company
  • Media Relations Assistant
  • Marketing Account Manager
  • Events Coordinator
  • Media Buyer
  • Engineering Technician
  • Higher Education Administrator
  • Cheerleading Instructor
  • Assistant Football Coach
  • Assistant Sports Information Director

Many of our alumni also pursue graduate study. Their degrees span law, social work, counseling, psychology, public relations, higher education, advertising, and communication at schools like:

  • University of Michigan
  • Michigan State University
  • The Ohio State University
  • University of Texas
  • Western Michigan University
  • Eastern Michigan University
  • Cooley Law School
