Samantha White, ’20, was a mathematics and economics interdepartmental major and a statistics minor. She is a member of both Omicron Delta Epsilon and Kappa Mu Epsilon, national academic honor societies in economics and mathematics, respectively. Samantha was also part of Delta Gamma Fraternity, a Greek women’s organization, and is a tutor in varying levels of mathematics.

She interned at Merrill Lynch, where she will learn the details of the wealth management industry by working closely with current financial advisors. “I intend to apply what I have learned in the classroom to the office. Merrill Lynch has already provided me with so much support that I cannot wait to see what I can accomplish.” Samantha is now a registered financial advisor with Merrill Lynch in Auburn Hills, MI.

How did Albion help you get there?

Albion has allowed me to major in two rigorous subjects with the interdepartmental major. Because of this, Albion has given me the chance to study both mathematics and economics, while showing me the way the two fields are connected with specific courses designed for this major. The professors at Albion have shown an immense amount of support and have gone out of their way to help me with whatever it was that I needed, including resume help and searching for internships. Albion, due to the professors and the classes geared toward exactly what you want to learn, is simply incomparable.

…changed my life. Had it not been for the education I received from Albion and the support and expertise of the professors there, I would not be where I am today. I’m very thankful for what Albion has given me and all the opportunities that have come from Albion connections.
