Juwan Perry

Juwan Perry, ’21, is an accounting major, C.P.A emphasis. He is an Economics and Management tutor and active in Men’s Basketball, specifically part of the 2018 – 2019 MIAA Tournament Champs, 2019 – 2020 MIAA regular season Champs, and on the 2019 – 2020 NABC Honors Court.

During the summer 2020 Juwan completed an internship with Trustmark Insurance.

He was able to gain experience in corporate finance by working closely with the corporate controller analyzing a new stream of revenue for the company. His duties included validating financial statements by comparing them to prior year data and preparing regulatory insurance quarterly reports.

Initially, he chose Albion because of the opportunity I had to play basketball. After a while, I began to grow an appreciation for the staff and the Albion community. My professors, especially those in the E&M department, helped me with whatever questions or issues I had whether it be with my academics, resumes, looking for a job/internship, and even networking.

“I appreciate the liberal arts aspect of Albion College because it allows you to customize your education to your interests. I’ve taken several classes outside of E&M that taught me skills that I can apply to accounting. This approach allows students to become well rounded and diverse individuals. I accepted a job offer from Trustmark starting in the spring of ’21 and I look forward to continuing my education while getting a CPA certification.”
