Internships: Performance Improvement Intern – EY Advisory Services (Summer 2014)
Current Job: Performance Improvement Consultant – EY Advisory Services
In a nutshell, what do you do?
This coming fall I will be starting a full time position at EY as a data analytics consultant in the National Advisory Services group. As a part of the Performance Improvement group, I will have the opportunity to work with clients in a variety of industries to address problems and then design and implement solutions. Identifying problems and potential solutions relies heavily on analysis of past data so that we can ensure our solutions will be useful to the client.
Why do you love what you do?
I enjoyed my internship with EY because it gave me the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people. Working in a team environment gives me more opportunities to learn more and improve as a consultant. I also enjoy EY because the projects are challenging and require problem solving.
How did Albion help you get there?
Albion gave me the education and experiences necessary to be successful at EY and anywhere else life takes me. My background in mathematics and economics helped me to develop strong problem solving skills and taught me how to work effectively under pressure. Albion also provided me with the connections that helped me to secure my internship and begin developing my professional network. Along with courses in my major, Albion also challenged me to take courses to fulfill the liberal arts requirements. These courses strengthened my performance in areas outside of my comfort zone and helped to enhance my writing and professional communication skills.
For me, Albion…
… provided the education and experiences that helped me discover the person that I want to become while pushing me to take the first steps towards becoming that person.
