Rob ClarkMajor: Mathematics/Economics Major, Management Minor
Residence: Detroit, MI
Career: Ally Bank

In a nutshell, what do you do?

Forecast losses from auto loans that Ally Bank gives to their customers. I also perform ad hoc analyses and meet with co-workers when questions arise around loan performance.

Why do you love what you do?

It’s fun to predict the future!

I get to apply statistical techniques to understand general patterns in our data. This analysis helps my company understand the risks associated with its business so they can make better decisions for people.

How did Albion help you get there?

Albion challenged me. My mathematical foundation coming out of college was very solid, which allowed me to continue growing and learning. I was also able to explore other interests and try new things in classes like philosophy, astronomy, and art. I continued my passion for athletics on the men’s soccer team. All of this broadened my perspective and allowed me to approach future challenges more thoughtfully and creatively.

For me, Albion…

… was a fun place to learn new things and grow as a person.
