Albion College Symphonic Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Matthew Clarke, is an ensemble comprising complements of woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Each spring the Symphonic Wind Ensemble performs two to three concerts in Albion College’s historic Goodrich Chapel. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is open to all students regardless of major (75-80% of the ensemble is made up of non-music majors). Auditions are traditionally held toward the end of the fall semester and are designed for chair placement only.
The Wind Ensemble has recently traveled to New York City and has also shared concerts with area wind bands including Springport and DeWitt high schools, Charlotte and Cereal City community bands, as well as the Olivet College Wind Ensemble.
