Albion Is a Princeton Review ‘Best College’ for 2018

Albion College has again been named one of the nation’s top undergraduate educational institutions with its inclusion in The Princeton Review’s new 2018 edition of its college guide, The Best 382 Colleges.

Using results from an 80-question survey of 137,000 students, The Princeton Review’s ranking looks at a variety of topics from accessibility of professors to career services to political activism to intramural sports participation to the quality of food on campus.

Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the publication.

Albion was lauded for its academics, quality laboratory facilities, student-faculty ratio and the accessibility of its professors, as well as for its ability to provide real-world experience through various majors.

“Students here truly appreciate that Albion works diligently to foster an environment that encourages questions [and] thinking, all the while aiming to provide personal attention to each student,” according to one survey respondent.

“We chose Albion for the book because it offers outstanding academics,” said Robert Franek, editor-in-chief at The Princeton Review. “Our selections are primarily based on our surveys of administrators at several hundred four-year colleges. We also visit dozens of colleges each year and give considerable weight to opinions of our staff and our 24-member National College Counselor Advisory Board. Most importantly, we look at valuable feedback we get from each school’s customers—our surveys of students attending them.”
