The Gerald Ford Institute for Public Service provides students with the chance to pursue their passion for public policy and community leadership. Through a combination of classroom and hands-on learning, students learn how to advocate on issues important to them while performing the hard work of making the world a better place.

As a student in the Gerald Ford Institute for Public Service, you’ll complete a one-unit internship tailored toward your specific career interests. Placements are secured through our strong alumni network, partnerships with national and international programs, and personal or professional connections.

Ford students frequently find internships in federal government, state and local government, judicial offices, and nonprofits, or take their learning further through an international program.
