Gerry Martini, ’07
Gerry Martini graduated in 2007, majoring in Political Science, minoring in Philosophy, with a Ford Institute concentration. He worked building custom homes in Florida before attending a Ph.D. program in Political Theory and American Politics at the Graduate Center, CUNY. Gerry has attained his M.A. and maybe, just maybe!, one day will finish writing his dissertation on American Transcendentalism. He has transitioned away from teaching and is currently Assistant Director of Admissions at the Graduate Center. Here, Gerry identifies, works with, and assists prospective Ph.D. and M.A. students as they consider their graduate school options. When asked, he answered, “My job is to spend my time talking to intelligent and interesting people–what’s not to love?!” Gerry lives in NYC (in Queens, the best borough of all!) with his wife—and fellow Albion alum—Bri and their two cats, Henry and Waldo.
For Gerry, “Albion was all about the people. Once you find like-minded student colleagues/friends, you can’t go wrong. Plus, I was privileged to have professors that were not only fantastic teachers and scholars, but genuinely great people. I am grateful for them all, in more ways than I can say.”
