Expanded Equestrian Arena Draws TV Coverage

The newly expanded Randi C. Heathman Indoor Arena at Albion College’s Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center, currently receiving its finishing touches in advance of its first show Oct. 1-2, was featured this morning on Newschannel 3 WWMT-TV, which serves the large Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo/Battle Creek viewing area.

The arena will stand out among colleges and universities nationally, and, with significant interest from the horse show community, looks to bring hundreds of visitors to Albion on weekends throughout the year. The arena’s namesake, Randi Heathman, ’03, who provided the initial idea and spark for an Albion equestrian facility and program in her senior thesis 13 years ago, as well as center Director Danielle Menteer, spoke with WWMT’s Jessica Wheeler in the report below.
