Graduation and commencement are times to celebrate the end of college and the start of a new chapter of life for students, but the Baccalaureate service is a time for reflection that can get overshadowed by the events of the “big day.”
We have all heard the saying, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step.” Most of us have already taken many first steps in our journeys. Our actual first steps. The first step on the bus to kindergarten. The first step into the locker room in high school. The first step at Orientation here at Albion. And now, some of us are poised to take another — the first step beyond graduation.
My name is Wayne Webster, and I am thrilled and honored to have been named the 18th President of Albion College. I very much look forward to officially joining the Albion community July 1.
Students at Albion College just expanded their opportunities for hands-on learning, while faculty, staff and community members gained more living, retail and investment options in their backyard, thanks to a new downtown revitalization project that received support and funding from the state.
