Camp Med celebrates its 7th year preparing high school students entering 10-12 grades who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. Through hands-on activities, student participants will explore topics related to oncology while working with Albion College faculty in areas including Biology, Chemistry, Kinesiology, Physics, and Psychology, and in environments such as our anatomy and physiology labs.
Students will also take part in sessions on college and medical school admissions with a focus on how they can better prepare themselves for a career in medicine.
Outside of the classroom, students will experience a bit of college life with evening activities such as a night at the historic Bohm Theater, an EMS campus scavenger hunt, CPR instruction, current student research presentations, yard games, and open gym. Participants will receive college credit for this four-day experiential learning camp on Albion College’s campus.
“Attending Camp Med and living on campus for a week helped me see what going to a small college would be like. Looking back now not only as an Albion alumni but also a current medical student at CMU, I would have to say that the camp was a big stepping stone for getting me to where I am now.”
-Courtney Aldrich, ’21 – attended Camp Med, Albion College, and is a current CMU Medical Student.
