First-Generation Day is a national day recognized by the federal government to highlight the accomplishments of students who are the first in their families to attend and graduate college. This day celebrates the choice of stepping into a different space than any other family member has before. It also celebrates the value that these students have placed on education, their future and the hopes of their families. Please join TRIO Student Support Services, the Cutler Center and Albion College in celebrating First-Generation Day, Wednesday, Nov. 8. If you are a first-generation college student, please stop by the Cutler Center Monday, Nov. 6 to pick up a free t-shirt and poster for the event. You can wear the T-shirt Nov. 8 when we will have a group photo taken. If you would like to be in the photo, please meet at the Cutler Center at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 8.
