Soe Yu Nwe, a Myanmar-born ceramic artist who received her M.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design after receiving her bachelor’s degree from Albion College, is featured in Forbes‘ 30 Under 30 – Art & Style 2019. Since graduating from Albion just five years ago, her works already have been displayed in several U.S. cities as well as in China, the Philippines, Taiwan and Australia.
Nominees for the list were vetted by a panel of judges that included noted fashion designers Tory Burch and Nicole Miller.
“Soe Yu became one of the most gifted students I’ve ever worked with,” said professor of art Lynne Chytilo in the Fall-Winter 2016-17 edition of Io Triumphe! as part of the issue’s Twenty for ’20 cover story. Added Soe Yu at the time: “I want to be able to do art in the international arena for a long time.”
