Albion College is the highest-ranked liberal arts college in the Midwest behind Lake Forest College in the Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2024 Best Colleges in the U.S. ranking.
Rounding out the “Top 10 Liberal Arts Colleges in the Midwest” behind Lake Forest and Albion are DePauw University, Gustavus Adolphus College, Kalamazoo College, Carleton College, Wheaton College, Macalester College, Augustana College, and Grinnell College. Albion ranks second among all colleges and universities in Michigan and 68th nationally.
The WSJ/College Pulse rankings are based on student outcomes, the learning environment, and diversity of the students and faculty. Student outcomes, which account for 70 percent of a College’s overall score, include graduation rates, salaries of graduates, and how well salaries offset the cost of attendance.
“Critically, our ranking emphasizes how much each school boosts outcomes beyond what would be expected for its students,” said the newspaper.
