Affirming Campus Events

Glitter and Ash Wednesday

During Lent celebrations through Spiritual Life, students have the option to receive traditional palm ashes or glitter ashes (palm ashes mixed with biodegradable glitter). Glitter ashes represent LGBTQ affirmation and inclusion. They are also a public acknowledgement of the divine worth of each human being, including those who have often been marginalized. Students are encouraged to receive the ashes that best meet their needs. For more information, contact Laura Todd at ltodd@albion.edu.

Lavender Graduation

One of the numerous multicultural graduation ceremonies that Albion offers, specifically for those within the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Students who walk at this ceremony will receive a rainbow cord courtesy of the Office of Campus Life.

Drag Show

Albion hosts an annual Drag Show open to students where they invite drag queens and kings to perform for students in the Kellogg Center stack. The event allows students to witness the elements that go into drag to make it possible, and everyone is free to perform and to show their true talents on stage.
