Albion College’s Office of Community Living proudly offers multiple housing options and room configurations that support LGBTQIA2S+ students in suite-style living, apartment-style living, and in Intentional Living Communities.

Single-gender communities

Single-gender communities are available to students, with women’s only housing available to first years and upper class residents (currently, these communities are located in Wesley Hall, Seaton Hall, Ingham Hall and 810 Michigan Ave).

Gender-inclusive communities

Gender inclusive housing options allow students who identify as transgender, gender non-conforming, agender and similarly identified students the ability to choose a roommate of any gender or gender expression. Gender inclusive housing is available to anyone looking for a safe, inclusive, and supportive living experience and open to students of any gender identity or expression.

Upperclass students have the opportunity to apply for gender inclusive housing during Spring Room Selection. New and transfer students should contact the Office of Admissions or the Office of Community Living to request and review available options in their first year or for information about how to request Gender Inclusive Housing.

Queer Connections

The LGBTQI Theme Community is a collaboration with and is co-located with students living in gender-inclusive housing.
