12:59 pm – ILLEGAL ENTRY: A student reported a screen missing from a ground floor room in Mitchell Towers. It was determined that someone made entry into the room, but nothing was found to be missing. Disp: Inactive.
January 5th
9:45 am – SMOKE ALARM: Ferguson smoke alarm activated. Officers responded and found a crew testing sprinkler systems in the building. Disp: Cleared.
January 6th
8:03 am – INTRUSION ALARM: Ferguson Panic Alarm activated. Officers responded to the Presidents Office and found that Facilities had cut a wire to a panic button while moving around furniture in the office. Disp: Cleared.
8:13 am – TROUBLE ALARM: Library staff reported the alarm beeping in the building. Officers responded and found the alarm was due to a maintenance request for the panel. Facilities was advised. Disp: Cleared.
11:42 am – SUSPICIOUS SITUATION: A staff member reported a man placing flyers on several cars in the Ferguson Parking Lot. Officers responded, but the individual had left before their arrival. Disp: Cleared.
8:08 pm – PARKING COMPLAINT: The basketball visiting teams bus was parked blocking the walk-way between Facilities and Kresge Gym. Officers responded and showed the driver a better place to park the bus. Disp: Cleared.
January 7th
2:07 am – TROUBLE ALARM: Dean Hall trouble alarm activated. Officers responded, but the alarm had cleared prior to their arrival. A walk-through of the building was completed and everything appeared secure. Disp: Cleared.
10:19 am – TROUBLE ALARM: Burns Apartment trouble alarm activated. Officers responded and found a broken pull box in one of the units had fallen apart and activated the alarm. Facilities was advised. Disp: Cleared.
11:10 am – TROUBLE ALARM: Alpha Chi Omega sorority water flow alarm activated. Officers responded, checked the building, and reset the alarm. Disp: Cleared.
January 9th
1:20 am – SMOKE ALARM: Ingham Annex fire alarm activated. Officers responded and found a detector in a first floor room had activated. Building was secure and alarm was reset. Disp: Cleared.
2:41 pm – SMOKE ALARM: Ingham Annex fire alarm activated. Officers responded and the alarm again advised a detector in a first floor room had been activated. The building was secure, no smoke or smell detected, and alarm was reset. Disp: Cleared.
5:33 pm – DOOR ALARM: A contractor in the Dow Center accidentally bumped the emergency door in the fieldhouse causing the door alarm to activate. Officers responded and reset the alarm. Disp: Cleared.
January 11th
9:39 am – SUSPICIOUS SITUATION: An Albion resident who neighbors an off campus home owned by the College reported footprints in the snow leading up to the back door of the unoccupied home. Officers responded and spoke with Facilities who advised they had personnel who had entered the home that morning. Disp: Unfounded.
January 12th
12:46 pm – SMOKE ALARM: Olin Hall smoke alarm activated. Officers responded and found cement being sanded down in the old greenhouse causing dust, which activated the building alarms. The alarms were silenced and reset. Disp: Cleared.
5:55 pm – SUSPICIOUS SITUATION: While completing walk-throughs officers heard voices in the basement of the Admissions Building. Downstairs, officers spoke with students who were working late and had permission to be in the building after hours. Disp: Cleared.
January 14th
9:42 pm – INTRUSION ALARM: An intrusion alarm was reported at the Tech Services building. Officers responded and found employees cleaning. The alarm was shut off until cleaning was finished. Disp: Cleared.
January 15th
4:47 pm – TROUBLE ALARM: Seaton Hall trouble alarm activated. Officers responded and did not find anything unusual in the building. The alarm continued to activate throughout the night. At 6:53 am, Facilities was contacted about a large amount of steam and a banging noise that was coming from the mechanical room. Once the issue was addressed, the alarms also stopped and cleared from the panel. Disp: Cleared.
11:10 am – SMOKE ALARM: Mitchell Towers trouble alarm activated. Officers responded and found that a student had burnt popcorn in their room. Alarm was silenced and reset. Disp: Cleared.
3:43 pm – SMOKE ALARM: Delta Sigma Phi smoke alarm activated. Officers responded and found a faulty detector in one of the rooms. Alarm was eventually silenced and reset. Facilities was made aware of the issue. Disp: Cleared.

11:36 pm – SUSPICIOUS SITUATION: A student reported a suspicious odor in Wesley Hall. Officers responded but were unable to detect any unusual smells. Disp: Cleared.
January 18th
7:50 am – INTRUSION ALARM: Jr High Alarm was accidentally activated by individuals setting up for a program in the building. Alarm was shut off for the remainder of the day. Disp: Cleared.
9:02 am – INTRUSION ALARM: A Tech Support employee advised she had accidentally set off an alarm in the building. The alarm was remotely reset. Disp: Cleared.
11:20 am – PARKING COMPLAINT: A student was contacted to move her vehicle which was blocking the flow of traffic in Lot 12. Disp: Cleared.
3:17 pm – SMOKE/ODOR INVESTIGATION: A marijuana type smell was reported in Whitehouse Hall. Officers responded but were unable to locate any unusual smells. Disp: Cleared.
6:55 pm – TROUBLE ALARM: Kresge Gym trouble alarm activated. Officers completed a walk-through of the building and everything was secure. Alarm was silenced and Facilities was advised of the trouble. Disp: Cleared.
January 19th
1:01 am – DISTURBANCE: A student reported a dispute with an Albion Resident about parking spaces in back of Dean Hall. Albion Department of Public Safety (ADPS) and Campus Safety Officers responded to the situation. Disp: Closed (Criminal).
3:00 pm – MEDICAL EMERGENCY: Incident occurred in Olin Hall. Disp: Cleared.
January 20th
9:00 am – MEDICAL EMERGENCY: Incident occurred in Baldwin Hall. Disp: Cleared.
10:18 am – PARKING COMPLAINT: A student was contacted to move her car from the grassy area behind Wesley Hall. Disp: Cleared.
11:03 am – TROUBLE ALARM: Science Complex trouble alarm activated. Sirens and Strobes were activated in the building as well. Officers responded and found a water flow trouble in the building. Facilities was also notified of the issue. Alarm was silenced and reset. Disp: Cleared.
7:41 pm – SMOKE ALARM: Delta Tau Delta Fraternity fire alarm activated. Officers responded and found a smoke detector that was malfunctioning on the 2nd floor. Facilities was advised. Alarm was silenced and reset. Disp: Cleared.
January 21st
1:45 pm – SMOKE/ODOR INVESTIGATION: A student reported a smokey smell coming from her heat ducts at Briton Apartments. Officers responded and found that one of the other apartments in the building had accidentally burnt cardboard Pizza box on their stove, which created the smell. The area was aired out to avoid any future alarm activation in the building. Disp: Cleared.
2:46 pm – TROUBLE ALARM: Science Complex trouble alarm activated. Officers responded and found the same issues as the previous day with water flow. Facilities is aware of the issue. Alarm was reset. Disp: Cleared.
5:54 pm – HARASSMENT: Students came to Campus Safety to report harassment that was directed at them by another student on campus. Disp: Cleared.
6:45 pm – SUSPICIOUS PERSON: A student reported an older man sitting with a suitcase on Erie Street behind the Fraternities. Officers responded and also contacted ADPS. The man was identified and was able to have a ride arranged for him to get to his out of town destination. Disp: Cleared.

8:20 am – ALCOHOL VIOLATION: Incident occurred at Fiske Annex. Disp: Closed (Administrative).
January 23rd

1:50 am – LARCENY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: A student reported change and medication missing from inside his car which was parked in Lot 8. Disp: Inactive.
11:50 pm – SUSPICIOUS PERSON: A student reported a man asking for drugs who had approached him near the front of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Officers responded and completed a walk-through of the area, but were unable to find anyone matching the individuals description. Disp: Cleared.
January 24th
1:20 am – NOISE COMPLAINT: A loud argument was reported in Whitehouse Hall. Officers responded, but the disagreement had been resolved upon arrival. Disp: cleared.
2:04 am – DISTURBANCE: A lot of yelling was reported in Wesley Hall, where a crowd of people had gathered. Officers responded but the crowd had dispersed upon arrival. Disp: Cleared.
2:15 am – DISTURBANCE: A student reported three men in Seaton Hall looking for another student who lived there and they wanted to ‘beat up’. Officers responded but were unable to locate the three individuals. Disp: Closed (Administrative).
3:19 am – MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A student reported a broken window in a doorway on the 2nd floor of Wesley Hall. Disp: Closed (Administrative).

10:33 am – PARKING COMPLAINT: The Grounds Department reported a student vehicle parked in front of the dumpster at Wesley Hall. Disp: cleared.
1:28 pm – PARKING COMPLAINT: A student was contacted to park his vehicle in another space rather than blocking the cross walk by Cass and Hannah Streets. The student had been parking there everyday for over a week. Disp: Cleared.
2:02 pm – MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A student reported damage to the window wiper on her vehicle while parked in Lot 8. Disp: Inactive.
5:00 pm – SEXUAL ASSAULT: A student reported a sexual assault that occurred at Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity during fall semester 2015. Disp: Closed (Administrative).
6:44 pm – MEDICAL EMERGENCY: Incident occurred at the Dow Center. Disp: Cleared.

7:00 am – DAMAGE TO PROPERTY: A window in the fieldhouse was accidentally broken during a team lacrosse practice. Disp: cleared.
8:04 am – PARKING COMPLAINT: Counseling Services reported a vehicle that had been parked in staff parking since yesterday. Disp: Cleared.
January 29th
3:22 pm – DISTURBANCE: A vehicle was reported driving down Michigan Ave with someone hanging out of the window. The vehicle parked in a student lot at Wesley Hall. Officers responded and found a vehicle fitting the description, but the car was now unoccupied. Disp: Cleared.
11:39 pm – INTRUSION ALARM: Janitorial staff accidentally set off the Visual Arts gallery alarm. Officers responded and reset it. Disp: Cleared.
January 30th
1:20 pm – INTRUSION ALARM: Library staff reported a student had exited the building through an emergency exit and set off the door alarm. Officers responded and reset the door. Disp: Disp: cleared.

12:03 am – MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A witness reported watching a student break a window at Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Disp: Closed (Administrative).

February 2nd
1:04 am – ILLEGAL DRUG VIOLATION: A marijuana smell was reported in Whitehouse Hall. Officers responded but were unable to determine the source. Disp: Cleared.
4:40 pm – INTRUSION ALARM: Dow Staff called and advised that someone had accidentally set off the emergency door alarm in the Fieldhouse. Officers responded, silenced, and reset the alarm.Disp: Cleared.
7:57 pm – LARCENY: A student reported a phone, laptop, and other items stolen from him while at the Dow Center. Officers spoke with the student and reviewed cameras to find suspicious juvenile subjects still at the Dow. Officers responded. ADPS was notified, took the juveniles into custody, and most of the items were recovered. Disp: Closed (Criminal).
11:39 pm – TROUBLE ALARM: Burns Apartments trouble alarm activated. Officers responded and found trouble in ‘Zone 4’. Alarm could not be reset, but was silenced. The next day officers found one of the apartments had bumped the detector off the ceiling. Once the detector was replaced, the trouble alarm cleared from the panel. Disp: Cleared.
February 3rd
1:07 am – ILLIGAL DRUG VIOLATION: A marijuana smell was reported in Whitehouse Hall. Officers responded but were unable to detect or locate anything. Disp: Cleared.

12:31 pm – SUSPICIOUS SITUATION: Officers responded to Hannah & Erie Streets where a vehicle was apparently parked in the middle of the intersection. Upon arrival, no vehicle was found in the intersection or in the area matching the original cars description. Disp: Cleared.
6:47 pm – TROUBLE ALARM: Burns Apartments trouble alarm activated. Officers responded and found one of the units had a ‘cooking error’. Alarms were reset.

2:32 pm – LARCENY: Staff members reported a large back-drop banner used at the Kellogg Center was stolen sometime Friday evening. Disp: inactive.
8:29 pm – SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: A staff member reported a wrecker driving in and out of campus parking lots. Officers made contact with the wrecker driver in Lot 23 who was changing a tire for a student parked in that area. Disp: Cleared.
10:58 pm – SMOKE/ODOR INVESTIGATION: A marijuana smell was reported in Wesley Hall. Officers responded and could smell it, but could not determine which room it was coming from. Disp: Cleared.

1:23 pm – INTRUSION ALARM: Library staff reported that and Admissions Guest accidentally exited the building through an emergency door causing the intrusion alarm to sound. Officers responded and reset the door. Disp: Cleared.

7:50 am – INTRUSION ALARM: Facilities advised they were moving a desk in Ferguson and the panic alarm would need to be removed for a short period of time. 12:54 am – POWER OUTAGE: All of campus lost power due to a storm. Campus building alarms were sent into trouble status until power was restored around 4:24am.
