We are excited you’re here and hope you find your association with the College to be an enriching and engaging work experience.
A number of documents are needed to finalize the hiring process as well as an in-person meeting with a member of the Human Resources Team. If that meeting has not been scheduled yet, please contact Human Resources at 517-629-0205. This meeting should occur on or before your first day of work.
At this meeting please bring the following:
For All Positions:
- Acceptable identification documents for the federal “Employment Eligibility Verification” form (I-9). An example of acceptable ID is a current passport or the combination of a valid driver’s license and social security card. A list of all acceptable documents is available here.
- Direct deposit banking information including routing number and account number
- Federal, state, and city tax exemption elections
- Emergency contact information
For Benefit-Eligible Positions:
- Beneficiary(s) Information: Social security number(s), date(s) of birth, and address(es)
- Social security number and date of birth for individual(s) to be covered under College health, dental, and vision insurance plans

Responsible Employee / Mandatory Reporter
Counseling Services staff, and Sexual Assault Advocates (SAAs) are sources of confidential support for persons affected by relationship violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. All other Albion College employees are considered Responsible Employees, and are required to report allegations of relationship violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment involving students, faculty or staff to Kelly Finn, Assistant Dean of Student Development and Title IX Coordinator. Identification Cards
Your Identification Card does more than display a photo of you. You can load your Albion 1Card with money to use like a debit card on campus at places like the Bookstore and cafeteria. ID photos are taken and your ID card is printed at Help Desk located on the lower level of the Ferguson Hall.
Parking
All employees are offered free parking on campus. You must register your vehicle with Campus Safety (bring your vehicle make, model, and license plate number). Permits should be placed on the lower left side of your vehicle’s back bumper. Visitors should request a visitor’s permit from Campus Safety.
Employee Affinity Groups
Find your people! Albion College supports Employee Affinity Groups on campus. Employee Affinity Groups are volunteer, employee-led groups composed of professionals from across the College who come together based on shared interests, experiences and/or identities.
Technology Resources
Getting Started with Technology Resource offers guides and set-up information on phones, voicemail, computer equipment, and other technology used on campus. Request temporary technology and/or audio visual equipment for campus events. Help Desk is located on the lower level of Ferguson Hall or available by phone (x0479) or email ([email protected])
Campus Directory
The Campus Directory includes the campus contact information and email address for employees and students.
Union Resources
These Union Resources are specific to employees in union-represented positions. Resources include collective bargaining agreements and job postings.
Faculty Resources
Faculty resources are largely supported by Academic Affairs: Course Webs, Registrar, Academic Catalog, FERPA Policy, and the Faculty Handbook.
Supervisor Resources
Supervisor Resources are specific resources available to supervisors including checklists, forms, and templates.
My.Albion
View electronic pay stubs and tax forms (W2, 1095) on my.albion.edu. My.Albion is also used by hourly employees to log their time on the online time clock.

Holiday Schedule
View the College Holiday Schedule including information about when specific holidays are observed. Don’t forget to add the College Holidays and Closed Days g-calendar to your work calendar.

Cheer on your favorite Britons with free access to most athletics events on campus. Go Brits!
Amenities
Dow Recreation and Wellness Center
The Dow Recreation and Wellness Center supports individual and group sport activities, physical conditioning, and health/wellness programs. Employees enjoy free access to this facility including an indoor track, basketball courts, racquetball courts, tennis courts, cardio equipment, weights, pool, and jacuzzi.
Events
Employees enjoy free access to most campus events including athletic competitions, speakers, musical concerts, and theatre performances. Some events may require tickets or limit attendance; review details with the event organizer before attending.
Bookstore
Employees receive a 10% discount with ID at the campus Bookstore, operated by Barnes & Noble on the 1st floor of the Kellogg Center (KC).
Campus Post Office
Mail a letter, package, or pick up stamps at the fully functioning Campus Post Office. Located on the 1st Floor of the Kellogg Center (KC).
Library
Enjoy the Library, where you’ll find everything from books to bagels.
Eating On Campus
There are several Dining Options On Campus. Employees receive a discount off the regular meal price when dining in Baldwin Dining Hall. Employees can also purchase a reusable to-go container from Baldwin Dining Hall to enjoy their buffet-style meals anywhere.
Need Cash?
Checks up to $50.00 can be cashed at the Accounting Office (located on the 1st Floor of the Ferguson Building) with valid College ID.

Campus Safety establishes emergency procedures regarding personal safety, fire safety, emergency preparedness, inclement weather, and active shooter. To report an emergency dial x1234 or x0911 from a campus phone. Employees will receive important alerts/information from Campus Safety by email, phone call, and text message (if you’ve opted into the text message system with your new hire paperwork).
