Requirements for Major
The philosophy major consists of a minimum of eight units: one course in each of the areas that fall within the core, one capstone research seminar, and four electives, at least two of which are at the 300-level. Capstone Research Seminar:
Electives:
- Four additional units in philosophy, at least two of which are at the 300-level.
Notes:
- The department also recommends PHIL 207, Symbolic Logic, for students who have interest in pursuing graduate school in philosophy.
- All courses for the major must be taken for a numerical grade and cannot be taken credit/no credit.
- Directed studies may be used to fulfill major requirements with permission of the department chair.
