Joanne (Joey) Miller, ’75, has been appointed the new Chair of the Albion College Board of Trustees.
“I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves to work with everyone at Albion College over the next several months,” Miller said. “We have much work to do as we begin the search for a new president and seek to align our College internally and externally with those who are its past, present and future.”
She succeeds Michael J. Harrington, who stepped down recently after a nearly two-year term as chair and a decade on the Board. He and his wife, Judy, are long-time supporters of and donors to Albion College, giving of their time, talent and treasure to the institution.
“We are incredibly grateful to Mike Harrington for his leadership of Albion College during a global pandemic,” said Interim President Joe Calvaruso. “His wealth of experience and knowledge will be missed. But we look forward to building on the strong foundation he left with our new Chair Joey Miller. She is the perfect successor to continue the growth at Albion College.”
Miller is an executive consultant, working to build virtual global teams. Miller retired as Vice President of Information Technology for Magna International, the global automotive supplier headquartered in Canada. There, Miller oversaw IT across all of Magna’s business units.
Miller is a member of several CIO networks, IT, and management organizations and has been actively involved with community organizations such as United Way, Voluntary Action Center and Guidance Clinic.
She graduated from Albion in 1975 with a B.A. in anthropology and is a graduate fellow in anthropology and political science at Oberlin College.
